Is There Someone For Everyone? Finding Love In Chaos

Do we all have a soulmate out there, given there are over seven billion people in the world, split almost equally between men and women? It’s possible we mess it up with the first ten people we date or think we’ve found “the one” immediately, only to separate years later. I believe there are multiple “ones” for each of us. If you find someone to stay with for life, then perhaps they were your true one.

The idea of spending life alone is scary. Perhaps that’s why people have children—to ensure they’re never alone. I’m hopeful that even if I find myself coming home to an empty bed, I’ll have the drive to find someone eventually. I’ve seen attractive, seemingly normal people miss their chance to find someone. Most people experience their first serious relationship before their mid-30s. Despite what we say about age just being a number, our biological clocks suggest otherwise, especially when it comes to childbirth after 35.

The anxiety is still there. Maybe a change in circumstances will lead to a surprising new relationship. Love has a way of softening even the most steadfast beliefs.

Someone For Everyone? Why Doesn’t Someone Love You

Everyone has their reasons for being single. You might be setting too many obstacles in your own way. Some people are too picky, always wanting someone more attractive, or too negative, constantly seeing the world in a bad light and putting others down. Others might be too insecure, lacking self-love, which is essential for attracting love from others. Being too arrogant or too career-driven can also stand in the way of finding love. Being overly confident or overly career-focused means you might overlook developing necessary social skills or personal connections.

Lastly, honesty is critical, especially in online dating. Misleading photos can lead to disappointment. It’s better to be genuine and set realistic expectations.

Love often finds you when you least expect it. I learned this from a mentor who found love later in life despite a busy career. It’s never too late to find someone—if you keep your heart open and adjust your expectations.
